Autonomous Vehicle /ADAS Litigation

Thu September 18 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm CDT

Free

Presenters: Kenneth Williams, Shareholder at Segal McCambridge Singer et., al.; Jacob Carr, Material Damage Manager at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance

With the advancements in technology, the role of a driver has undergone a transformative shift. Semi-autonomous systems like ADAS (“Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems”) are becoming more and more prevalent, yet manufacturers continue to claim that drivers are fully responsible for any accidents that occur while using these systems. This webinar will assess the current landscape of automated technologies and address plaintiff theories of liability. After this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • address plaintiff theories of liability arising out of the use of autonomous vehicles and/or ADAS technology;
  • evaluate the role of the driver/user with respect to comparative/contributory negligence during litigation; and
  • understand how carriers can gain access to the data from autonomous vehicle to aid in claim investigations, coverage determinations, and litigation defenses.

CONTINUING EDUCATION APPROVALS: This webinar has been approved for 1 hour of CE credit for adjusters in Texas, Delaware, West Virginia, & Oklahoma. No attorney MCLE credit is available for this webinar.
