Overview

The City of Little Rock uses the state's adopted AFPC and it also adopted some ICC codes.

Residential Building Code

Arkansas adopted a statewide mandatory residential code that will control; however, local governments are free to make laws more strict (with some limitations).See PLRB, Arkansas Building Codes for more information on state level codes.

Little Rock adopted the 2006 IRC, locally. Note that adoptions usually come with amendments. So, it is important to review those amendments in addition to the unamended model code.

The City uses Volume II of AFPC and adopted Appendices C, D, E, F, G, H, I and J, and also uses the revisions to the adopted 2006 IBC.

Existing Buildings

The City adopted the 2012 IEBC and Appendices A, B and C. See §8-2 of the Little Rock Code of Ordinances.
