Overview
The city of Dover, Del. adopted the 2009 International Building Code, the 2009 International Residential Code, the 2009 ICC Performance Code for Buildings and Facilities, the 2009 International Existing Building Code, and the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code. Dover, Del. Muni. Code § 22-61 (adopted with amendments).
In the case of conflicts between the building regulations found in chapter 22 of the Dover municipal code and the state law, the state law prevails. Dover, Del. Muni. Code § 22-63 (adopted with amendments).

The city of Dover, Del. adopted the 2009 International Residential Code with amendments. Dover, Del. Muni. Code § 22-61 (adopted with amendments).
- According to Table R301.2(1), Ice barriers are not required.
- Section R313 is deleted in its entirety. Automatic fire sprinklers are not required.
- Drip edges are not required as of the 2009 IRC except when specified in the manufacturer's installation instructions.

The more restrictive provisions of the International Fire Codes as set forth in subsection (a) above or the National Fire Codes as set forth in subsection (b) above shall apply whenever they may be in conflict.
