Sinkholes are a significant claim issue in the State of Florida.  Coverage issues abound and the "Sinkhole, Subsidence & Collapse Solutions for Difficult Issues" session will help you develop effective strategies in managing these claims.

 

Presenters Curtis Hutchens, J.D., Assistant General Counsel, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, and Andrew Rock, J.D., The Rock Law Group, will trace the evolution of coverage for sinkhole, subsidence, and collapse in the Businessowners, Commercial Peril, and the Homeowners forms.

 

They will also review statutory changes, including Florida sinkhole regulations, to demonstrate how coverages have been modified.  Recent attempts by policyholders and their representatives to expand these coverages to cover previously uncovered claims will be explores.  They will also evaluate practical strategies to fairly and efficiently adjust sinkhole, subsidence, and collapse losses.
