The Florida Department of Financial Services has approved up to 16 hours of adjuster optional credit at the 2012 Claims Conference.  Partial credit is offered for attending fewer sessions.  The 90-minute sessions are available for 1.0 hour of credit each.  Three-hour sessions will each earn 3.0 hours.  You may attend any sessions you wish to receive credit; but you must attend the entire session. 

 

In addition, the following courses were approved for Adjuster Ethics credit:

 

- Ethics in Action:  Insurance Professionals & Ethical Decisions, 1.0 hour

 

- Bad Faith & Punitive Damages in Third-Party Claims, 3.0 hour

 

- Ethical Issues within the Tripartite Relationship, 1.0 hour

 

- Good Faith Claims Handling & Bad Faith Allegations, 1.0 hour

 

The following session has been approved for Adjuster Law & Policy credit:

 

- Property Case Law Developments, 3.0 hours

 

Adjuster continuing education is an important no-extra-cost feature of the 2012 Claims Conference, April 15 to 18, at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida.  In addition to the sessions approved by the Florida Department of Financial Services, PLRB/LIRB has applied for CE credit approvals from New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas.

 

There is no processing fee for CE requests in the states that have granted approval for Claims Conference sessions.

 

The Claims Conference is also approved for continuing professional education credit from the Society of CPCU.  In addition, the Society of Registered Professional Adjusters has approved the Conference for CE credit.

 

Continuing Legal Education credit has been approved by the Florida and Illinois bar associations for the Claims Conference.
