Cyber Losses: What You Can Expect

PLRB Claims Conference
April 17 to 20, 2016

Cyber losses have become a daily occurrence. As a result there are a growing number of cyber loss claims investigated by property and casualty insurance adjusters. One of the 100 sessions offered at the 2016 Claims Conference will be "Cyber Losses: What Can You Expect," presented by Troy Bates, Principal, Werlinger & Associates, Anaheim, California, R. Dixon Grier, CPA, Partner, Matson Driscoll & Damico, LLP, Walnut Creek, California, and Mark Voronin, AIC, Executive General Adjuster, Zurich Financial Services NA, San Francisco, California.

At the conclusion of the session, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe current coverages and potential future changes for cyber crime losses;
  • Evaluate what's required for an insurable cyber loss;
  • Investigate and determine the cause of a data breach claim; and
  • Review typical data breach/cyber crime losses in terms of costs, including business income and extra expense.

The 2016 Claims Conference features continuing education for property and casualty adjusters with sessions facilitated by insurance professionals. Sessions are offered for the continued professional development of claims professionals.

The Property & Liability Resource Bureau 2016 Claims Conference will be held April 17 to 20 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. Registration is open to property and casualty insurance professionals who work for or represent insurance companies.

The 2016 Insurance Services Expo will be held Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Nearly 300 exhibitors will exhibit with products and services to assist insurers in providing claims services to policyholders.

The Expo showcases skilled national and regional providers of adjustment services, such as accounting firms and auditing firms. Attendees are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch with the exhibitors in the Expo on both Monday and Tuesday of the Conference. They will have an opportunity to enhance their professional development by connecting with a large network of subject matter experts and industry partners during the lunch break.
