A low-speed collision between vehicles has the potential to cause serious bodily injury and significant property damage. The physics of mass and motion come into play to create coverage issues which may not be obvious and require a thorough analysis and investigation.

One of the Casualty Campus sessions at the 2016 Claims Conference will be "Low-Speed Vehicle Collisions: The Bio-Mechanics," presented by Richard Baratta, PhD, PE, Vice President - Biomechanical Division, Rimkus Consulting Group, Houston, Texas..

At the conclusion of the session, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the biomechanics and reconstruction of low-speed vehicle collisions;
  • Examine the use of engineering and other scientific data to evaluate damage and injuries; and
  • Identify various injuries and their mechanisms in low-speed vehicle collision analysis,

The 2016 Claims Conference features continuing education for casualty adjusters with sessions facilitated by insurance professionals. Two dozen casualty campus sessions are available out of the 100 sessions offered for the continued professional development of both property and casualty adjusters.

The Property & Liability Resource Bureau 2016 Claims Conference will be held April 17 to 20 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. Registration is open to property and casualty insurance professionals who work for or represent insurance companies.

The 2016 Insurance Services Expo will be held Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Nearly 300 exhibitors will exhibit with products and services to assist insurers in providing claims services to policyholders.

The Expo showcases skilled national and regional providers of casualty adjustment services, such as legal firms and legal billing review firms. Attendees are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch with the exhibitors in the Expo hall on both Monday and Tuesday of the conference. They will have an opportunity to enhance their professional development by connecting with a large network of subject matter experts and industry partners during the lunch break.
