The 2016 Claims Conference offers over two dozen casualty campus sessions. The Casualty Campus features professional development for casualty adjusters with sessions facilitated by insurance professionals.

One of the available sessions is "Adjusting Bodily Injury & Wrongful Death Claims," presented by Joe Epps, CPA, CFE, President, Epps Forensic Consulting, PLLC, Scottsdale, Arizona, Maryl Fein, Claim Director-Excess Claims, Allianz Global Corp. & Spec., O'Fallon, Missouri, and Josh M. Snell, JD, Partner, Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, PLC, Phoenix, Arizona.

At the conclusion of "Adjusting Bodily Injury & Wrongful Death Claims", attendees will be able to:

  • Describe claim investigation options for pre- and post-litigation bodily injury and wrongful death claims;
  • Identify potential members of the claims' team and the collaboration needed to effectively resolve these cases;
  • Outline the types of potential economic damages that the adjuster might anticipate; and
  • Compare the differences in various claims settlement procedures, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation through trial.

The Property & Liability Resource Bureau 2016 Claims Conference will be held April 17 to 20 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio. Registration is open to property and casualty insurance professionals who work for or represent insurance companies.

It will offer 100 property and casualty claims topics for the continued professional development of claims adjusters. Many of the sessions will be approved for adjuster continuing education credit.

The 2016 Insurance Services Expo will be held Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Nearly 300 exhibitors will exhibit with products and services to assist insurers in providing claims services to policyholders.

The Expo showcases skilled national and regional providers of casualty adjustment services, such as accounting and investigation companies. Attendees are invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch with the exhibitors in the Expo hall on both Monday and Tuesday of the conference. They will have an opportunity to enhance their professional development by connecting with a large network of subject matter experts and industry partners during the lunch break.
