"Estimating with New Technologies" is one of the many professional development sessions offered at the Property & Liability Resource Bureau's 2016 Claims Conference, April 17 to 20, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Registration is open to property and casualty insurance professionals who work for or represent insurance companies.

The educational session will be presented by Pascal Begin, Director-Product Management, Symbility Solutions, Inc. Toronto, Ontario, Robert Bragdon, Senior Training Consultant, Hanover Insurance Group, Worcester, Massachusetts, John Postava, Founder/President, Simsol Software Company, Orlando, Florida, and Jeff Taylor, President, Geomni (Verisk Analytics Business), Lehi, Utah.

At its conclusion, Claims Conference attendees who attended will be able to:

  • Describe advances in mobile technology;
  • Examine the pros and cons of tablets v. laptops;
  • Review integration with other emerging technologies (aerial mapping/storm tracking); and
  • Outlines the future of drones and their role in claims adjustments.

The PLRB Claims Conference will offer over 100 property and casualty claims topics for the continued professional development of claims adjusters. Many of the educational sessions will be approved for adjuster continuing education credit.

As part of the Claims Conference, the 2016 Insurance Services Expo will be held Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Over 300 exhibitors will be there with products and services to assist insurers in providing claims services to policyholders.

The Expo showcases skilled national and regional providers of casualty adjustment and restoration services, such as accident reconstruction.
