Over 9,000 Have Completed a PLRB Distance Learning Module in 2016

Nearly 8,000 requested Adjuster CE Credit

The leadership of the Property & Liability Resource Bureau in the professional development of claims professionals continues in the field of online education. The PLRB recently released the third quarter report for its PLRB Distance Learning Module program. As of September 30, a total of 9,079 insurance claims professionals completed Distance Learning Modules. Of those, 7,789 requested adjuster continuing education credit.

The Distance Learning Modules with the highest number of completions were:

  • Ethics for Claims Professionals, with 578 completions;
  • Accident Scene Investigation, at 451 completions; and
  • Ethics for Street Adjusters, completed by 376 individuals.

A total of 64 Distance Learning Modules that have been approved for Adjuster Continuing Education credit are available to employees of PLRB insurance company members, as well as Affiliate members.

Modules that were introduced this year were:

  • Business Interruptions: Manufacturing Losses;
  • Drying 101: Water Remediation; and
  • Good Faith Claim Handling.

The Distance Learning Certification Program continues to be utilized by claims professionals. As of September 30, a total of 33 people had earned certification; 25 earned the property certificate and eight earned the casualty certificate.

PLRB's Distance Learning Modules are available for use by employees of member insurance companies, as well as affiliate member companies.
