Combating Contents Fraud

PLRB Investigating Potential Fraud Webinar Series

Fraudulent content claims can be detected and stopped by a well trained and vigilant adjuster. "Combating Contents Fraud," is the next webinar in PLRB's Investigating Potential Fraud webinar series. It will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. central time.

"Fraudulent contents claims are no secret," noted Scott Powell, Vice President, Education and Technical Services at the Property& Liability Resource Bureau. "They contribute to the billions of dollars lost annually to fraud in the insurance industry."

The webinar is open to employees of PLRB member insurance companies and PLRB affiliate member companies. Those attending the course will discover:

  • The latest trends in contents fraud across personal and commercial lines;
  • Red flags for early detection of contents fraud;
  • Useful strategies, tools, and techniques for fraud investigation; and
  • Legal and procedural protocols to help combat contents fraud.

"With the ever-increasing demands of claims adjusters, detecting and investigating potential fraud is not always easy," continued Powell. "It takes the hard work and cooperation of various insurance professionals including adjusters, investigators, experts, and law enforcement authorities to help curtail these claims."
