Over 6,000 Distance Learning Modules Completed So Far This Year

Over 78,000 Completed Since PLRB Offered Distance Learning Modules

The PLRB Distance Learning Module program continued providing the professional education demanded by property and casualty adjusters during the first six months of this year. A total of 6,726 claims professionals completed Distance Learning Modules that are offered online for employees of PLRB insurance company members, as well as PLRB Affiliate member company members.

A total of 5,744 of those completers requested adjuster continuing education credit, as of June 30.

The Distance Learning Modules that lead the demand for CE credits were:

  • Ethics for Claims Professionals with 450 requests;
  • Accident Scene Investigation with 323 requests; and
  • Ethics for the Street Level Adjuster with 262 requests.

Distance Learning Certification Program

The Property & Liability Resource Bureau offers a certification program for claims professionals. During the first six months of 2016 there were 22 people who completed the program. Of those, 19 completed the property adjusting courses and three completed the casualty adjusting courses.

78,000+ Completions

The PLRB began the Distance Learning Module program in 2009. Since that launch the number of available CE-approved modules has grown to 64. During the life of the program at total of 78,829 users have completed CE-approved modules.

The CE-approved modules with the highest total completions to date are:

  • Introduction to Negligence Concepts, 4,076;
  • Accident Scene Investigation, 3,758;
  • Coverage for Water Back Ups and Overflows, 3,673;
  • Animal Liability, 3,319;
  • Water Damage Exclusions, 3.249;
  • Soft Tissue Injury Cases, 3,062;
  • Residential Personal Property, 2,701;
  • Ethics for Claim Professionals, 2,564;
  • Residential Roof Damage Assessment, 2,521; and
  • Commercial Roofing Losses, 2.434.
