Cyber Security Keynote Address - Large Loss Conference

Cyber Security has been at the core of numerous large losses in the past few years, as hackers steal data and information from both commercial organizations and the U.S. government. The keynote address at the 2016 Large Loss Conference will be delivered by an expert on cyber security, Daniel Sutherland of the Department of Homeland Security.

The PLRB Large Loss Conference will meet October 28 to 30, 2015, at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. Daniel Sutherland will deliver the keynote address "Getting Our Arms Around Cybersecurity: Threats, Resources & Trends" at the General Session, 8:15 a.m., Thursday, October 29. .
Cybersecurity is an issue that is on the front burner for many in business and government today - we read about it in the papers, our leaders are talking about it, and CEOs across America see it as one of their top concerns.
Daniel Sutherland is the General Counsel of the Department of Homeland Security's component that focuses on cybersecurity and infrastructure resilience, a fast growing organization with a budget over $1 billion and more than 17,000 employees and contractors. Mr. Sutherland will help increase our cyber literacy by addressing questions such as: "What is the nature of the threat that we face? What are resources that we all can benefit from? What are the most important trends in this developing field?"
Following the General Session a series of workshops will begin and last through Noon Friday, October 30. They address a wide variety of challenges from coverage to investigation, from evaluation to resolution that confront large loss adjusters on a daily basis. Sessions are offered in the disciplines of commercial lines property, personal lines property, as well as casualty claims.
Adjuster continuing education credit is available for many of the sessions. Also available are professional development credits for the CPCU program and the Society of Registered Professional Adjusters.
The is no registration cost for employees of PLRB member insurance companies. The registration fee for employees of PLRB Affiliate Member companies is $450. Registration for all others is $595. Complete information and registration is available online here.
