New California Wildland Fire Data Layers on PLRB Map
Fire Perimeters, Evacuation Zones
The 2015 wildfires in California are breaking records. Thousands of residences have been destroyed and damaged. Hundreds of thousands of acres of forest have burned in the fires. Locating policyholder locations within various emergency zones is easy with PLRB Map.
California Office of Emergency Services Data Layers
PLRB Catastrophe Services has added three map services from the California Office of Emergency Services to the PLRB Map for the exclusive use of employees of PLRB member insurance and affiliate member companies. After logging in, PLRB members can quickly determine which policyholders have property within the fire zones. They can also determine which of their policyholders might be located within evacuation zones. Quick access to this address-specific data can speed claims handling for company policyholders.
The data layers are found by clicking on the May Layers button and the Wildfire Perimeters tab where the member employee can select the checkboxes of the data to be displayed.
Further information on using PLRB Map is available from Andrew Louchios, Geologist/Spatial Specialist at firstname.lastname@example.org or 630-724-2233.
