PLRB Certification for Property & Casualty Claims Expertise

Online and in-person conference attendance leads to certification

Property and casualty adjusters can obtain certification of their expertise and adjusting skills by enrolling in the PLRB Distance Learning Program.

With the PLRB Property Claim Skills or Casualty Claim Skills certification an adjuster will earn a measurable accomplishment that signifies their dedication to learning about critical claim areas relating to the job.  Adjusters will also confirm their commitment to keeping pace with the latest developments in these areas.

Each curriculum comprises twenty-four (24) hours of online coursework (twelve courses running about two hours each). Or in place of the two elective courses, you can substitute one full day of attendance at a live PLRB educational conference.

Already completed some online courses?

No problem. An adjuster who has completed online PLRB Distance Learning Module courses will be automatically given credit towards their certificate for courses already completed that are part of the curriculum.

Property coursework is divided into the areas of coverage, claim investigation, and damage evaluation. Casualty coursework is divided into the areas of coverage, legal duty, claim investigation, litigation & ADR, and damage evaluation.

Modules are free of charge to PLRB member insurers and affiliate member claims service providers. Courses can be taken in one 2-hour sitting or broken up into segments. PLRB keeps track of your progress so that you can complete segments when your schedule allows.

When an adjuster has completed the required number of courses for each column in either curriculum, the PLRB will automatically email them a certificate of completion.
