Budget restrictions, increased competition, the speed and immediacy of the digital age, the advent of ubiquitous social media, a new generation of workers who will replace the aging Baby Boomers are but a few of the dynamics that are changing the work place. General Cone led the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command which had the responsibility of transforming the army to prepare for future challenges. He served as a principal architect of doctrine, future concepts, and training and leader development for the U.S. Army.
General Cone commanded the Department of Defense-wide program to capture lessons learned in Afghanistan and Iraq, and implement them in the military training systems. He will share with the Claims Conference General Session the key elements of how the lessons learned were applied to new training.
An airborne Ranger, General Cone has extensive experience commanding units at all levels, including combat in Afghanistan and Iraq. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, he is an acknowledged training innovator.
